The property borders the Sarapiquí river.
It has an area of ​​14 hectares of paddocks suitable for the good management of different types of animals.
It also has a forest along the Puerto Viejo River, which serves as a natural corridor for migratory birds, as well as the area forming a biological corridor, which continues with the farm of the O.E.T or La Selva organization, for migratory birds.
Also in the paddocks, you can see birds that are typical of this ecosystem.
The property has a house of 400 m2, opts to receive the tourist.
Sarapiquí is a bird sanctuary. In the last counts carried out by the Ornithological Association as well as by La Selva in the years 2011 and 2012, over 350 species of birds were counted in 48 hours.

La Selva Biological Station (OET)

The La Selva Protective Zone and the La Selva Biological Station, which is adjacent to the farm, is a natural area of ​​great importance worldwide for tropical research, adjacent to the property. It is on the southern border with the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Its Biological Station, where tropical studies are carried out, is home each year to a multitude of scientists, students and researchers from various countries and is operated by the OET (Organization for Tropical Studies). It is a research center dedicated to physiological ecology, forestry and soil science and has the appropriate technology for work in these fields.

Access roads to Sarapiquí. There are two main ways:
1. Route 32 (national route - San Jose - Limón, 90 kms from San Jose to Sarapiquí, 1 ½ hour from San Jose.
2. Route 126 - San Jose - Heredia - La Virgen - Puerto Viejo (2 ½ hours
